Stunning fireworks display at San Antonio beach in Ibiza

Every August, the coastal town of Sant Antoni de Portmany on Ibiza transforms into a vibrant hub of culture, music, and festivity during the Fiestas de Sant Bartomeu. This event, honouring Saint Bartholomew, the town's patron saint, is a highlight of the island's summer calendar, blending deep-rooted traditions with contemporary flair.

The festivities span from early August to early September, offering a diverse array of events that cater to all ages and interests. From children's activities and religious ceremonies to live music and cultural performances, the celebration encapsulates the spirit of Ibiza.


The pinnacle of the festival occurs on August 24th, known as the "Día Grande." The day commences with the "Fiestuki Splash," a lively foam party in Plaza de España, delighting children and families alike. As evening approaches, a solemn mass is held, followed by a traditional procession through the town's streets. The procession culminates in the "ball pagès," a folk dance performed in the square behind the church, showcasing the island's rich cultural heritage.
