How Doménique Wissink Is Redefining Ibiza and Beyond

A luxury yacht experience with Extra Ibiza

By Sophie Morrow

Meet Doménique Wissink, the creative force behind Extra—a company that transforms ordinary travel into unforgettable, cinematic experiences. For Doménique, life isn’t about following the usual paths; it’s about crafting moments that ignite emotion, connection, and freedom. From Ibiza’s secret beaches to luxury villas and spontaneous, high-stakes adventures, Doménique and team design journeys that go far beyond brochures and social media posts.

Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Doménique Wissink—a day dreamer, builder, and the kind of person who believes that life should feel like the most unforgettable scene in your favourite movie.

I'm the founder of Extra, a company that creates wonder-filled journeys for people who want to experience the world beyond the brochure and beyond the premade packages. What do I do? I build worlds that I believe in, my job is to make people feel something unforgettable. I don’t sell products—I design experiences together with my amazing team.

I’ve never fit into the traditional travel or luxury mold, or maybe even the traditional life, and I don’t want to. I believe in the magic that happens when creativity, emotion, and the sense of freedom collide and crash into each other. My work is about making that magic real—for others, and for myself.

What's your story with ibiza?

Ibiza wasn’t just a place I landed in—it was a place that pulled me in. The island has this way of shaking you awake. For me, it wasn’t the parties or the beaches (though let’s be honest, they don’t hurt). It was the sense that something bigger was possible here, and I think many others recognised that feeling when they first arrived in Ibiza. The ordinary rules didn’t apply. I came to Ibiza during a chapter of my life where I was figuring out what to do. Not lost (maybe a little bit), but definitely searching. And the island answered. It gave me the space to dream wildly, to build something from scratch, to gather a group of people who believe in beauty, depth, and experience over routine. With my background in marketing, music, business and seeking freedom I felt like the doors blew right open.

Now, I run Extra from here—a company born from that exact feeling. We turn holidays into portals. Yachts, villas and escapism—they’re just the setting. The real magic is in what people feel here. Ibiza is more than my base, it's my reminder that freedom can be a business model.

What do the majority of people want when they come to ibiza?

Most people come to Ibiza looking for something they can’t quite name. Some think it’s the parties, others say it’s the beaches—but what they’re really chasing is a feeling. A sense of aliveness, exclusivity, a true sense of something unique. A break from the script. People come to Ibiza to feel free, to remember who they are when no one’s watching.

They want connection—sometimes wild and loud, sometimes quiet and intimate. They want to dance until sunrise, but also to sit still and feel something real. Whether they realise it or not, they’re not just coming for a holiday—they’re coming for a shift. For permission to let go. To be bold. To feel beautiful. To live like life is art. And that’s where we come in: we help make that feeling tangible.

What’s the most extra experience you’ve curated for someone? (Details, please!)

One of the wildest trips I’ve organised was for a group of American A-listers visiting Ibiza for the first time. Everything had to be arranged in total secrecy—no leaks, no paparazzi, just flawless execution behind the scenes.

They came with high expectations, but they gave us full trust, which is where the magic happens. We took care of it all: luxury villa, private yachts, club tables, island-wide transport, photographers,, custom menus, IV-drips, even gum and backup phone chargers. The works.

The hardest part? Getting them into the clubs without being seen, and still making sure they had the best tables in the house. We were outbidding with tens of thousands of euros just to secure VIP tables at the island’s top spots. And this wasn’t pre-arranged—this was last-minute, high-pressure, and very real. But they followed our lead every step of the way.

We showed them all sides of Ibiza: iconic nights, private moments, secret beaches, unforgettable sunrises. In four days, they lived what most people try to see in 3 weeks. Then, on their last morning, they looked at me and said, “Where to next?” We extended the trip into Greece—villa, plans, travel—all rebooked within 4 hours. It was intense, but that’s what we do best. Make the impossible feel effortless.

Any juicy stories?

Any juicy stories? Plenty. But we don’t share the juice—we protect it. What happens on our trips stays there. What we can say is this: we work with a lot of celebrities, influencers, and high-profile names. And here’s the part that deserves real credit—they don’t come to us asking for discounts. They come to us as clients, not as collaborations. No “can we exchange for a post?” No “we’ll tag you if...” They pay. Fully. And they pay because they trust us to deliver something that no one else can. In a world where so many expect to trade influence for services, we work with people who value what we do—and that makes all the difference. That trust is something we’ve built, and something we’ll always work to protect. We’re not just breaking the industry standard—we’re rewriting it.

Tips for finding the best after parties?

Tips for finding the best after parties? Let’s be honest and break the difficult topic —you're either super f-king hot, or you know someone who knows someone. That’s the truth.

The best afters aren’t on flyers, they’re not on Instagram, and they definitely don’t have a ticket link. You’ve got to talk to people. Get to know the artists. Get to know the crew behind the scenes—the ones working for the labels, the promoters, the sound guys, the friends of the friends.

Ibiza’s real magic lives in the personal invites, the subtle nods, the last-minute messages saying, "come to this location, but don’t share it." And one more rule—never pay for an after party. The real ones don’t charge. They’re little hidden heavens, filled with free everything, music you’ll never forget, and that feeling that time just doesn’t matter. You stay until the sun sets again—or rises, depending on where you started. If you know, you know. And if you don’t yet—start showing up. The island will open the right doors when you're ready.

Looking ahead 5 years, where do you see Extra Ibiza? What’s next?

Looking ahead five years, Extra Ibiza is becoming much more than a seasonal travel company—it’s turning into a full ecosystem. We’re scaling beyond Ibiza, but only into places that align with our identity and values. We're talking locations like the Alps, not because it’s trendy, but because we want to build immersive, wonder-filled experiences all year round. The future of Extra is rooted in asset management, yacht management, and experience ownership.

We're stepping away from reselling and stepping into full control—owning the villas, managing the yachts, running the operations ourselves. It’s about creating a world where everything we offer is part of our universe, with our standards, our energy, and our people behind it. We’re building our own tech, too. A platform that handles everything: from bookings to communication, from payments to personalization. All sleek, all branded, and all built around the feeling we want people to walk away with.

In five years, Extra will be a name that stands for more than holidays. It’ll be a creative house, a travel brand, and a lifestyle network—blurring the lines between real life and dream life. And we’re not talking about it. We’re building it. So if you are keen on investing into the future of your holidays you can always text me ;)

The world is ending. What are you wearing?

The world’s ending? Dear, I’m not worried about what I’m wearing. I’m the one planning the afterparty.
